EDI helping out at a women's shelter 


A few weeks ago we visited a women's shelter in Mysore, India called Shakthi Dhama. The shelter houses women who are victims of harassment, dowry associated attacks, prostitution, domestic violence and other forms of oppression. Shakthi Dhama offers counseling, housing, food and vocational training to the women and is open 24 hours a day.

When we entered their buildings we noticed that the walls were worn, dirty and covered in mildew. In response to seeing this we offered to clean and paint their walls. So, over the past weekend we bought paint and supplies and washed, sanded, and painted the walls to their family counseling center.
